Kiwi is an AI assistant you message on WhatsApp. It works on any phone, Android or iPhone. It notices what needs doing, texts you before you ask, and does it when you say yes.
If you already live in WhatsApp, this is the easiest way to use Kiwi. Here is what it does and how to start.
What Kiwi does on WhatsApp
Kiwi keeps an eye on your calendar and email. When something needs doing, it messages you once, at the right time:
Marta just replied about your deposit, like you asked. She's sending the €1,200 back on Monday. Want me to remind you on Tuesday to check it arrived?
You reply "yes please", and it's done.
Kiwi books, orders and replies for you, on any app or website. It works with the apps you already use, like Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Slack, Spotify and Uber, and when there's no app for something it uses the website. Anything that costs money shows its price first, and Kiwi only says something is booked once the company confirms it.
You can also ask it anything, the way you'd message a friend:
- "Remind me every weekday at 8 to take my vitamins"
- "Order dinner for two, something light"
- "Plan Saturday with the kids, nothing too far"
- "Cancel the gym membership I don't use"
How to start
- Message Kiwi. Go to heykiwi.co, tap Sign up, then pick WhatsApp. It opens with "Hi Kiwi" already written. Just press send.
- Answer a few questions. Kiwi asks your name, your birthday and your email, and asks you to accept the terms, all in the chat.
- You're set. No app to download, no password to make. WhatsApp already confirmed your number when you set it up, so there is no code to type.
Connect your apps
Say "connect Gmail" or "connect Google Calendar" and Kiwi walks you through it. The more it can see, the more it can notice for you. You choose what to connect, and you can disconnect anything at any time by asking.
What Kiwi can see
Kiwi only sees the messages you send to it. Messaging Kiwi doesn't let it read your other WhatsApp chats or groups. It sees the apps you choose to connect, and only those. Read more in Is Kiwi safe?.
Tips
- Short replies are fine. "Yes", "the second one", "make it 7".
- Use your own language. Kiwi answers in the language you write in.
- Codes go in the chat. If a website sends you a sign-in code, Kiwi asks you for it. Send it, and Kiwi carries on.
- Prices come first. Kiwi never books something that costs money before you've seen the price and said yes.
On an iPhone?
You can use WhatsApp on an iPhone too, or use Kiwi in Messages instead. See Kiwi on iMessage.
